Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail

You might remember this signature cocktail from the back to school barbecue I just hosted. This pretty signature cocktail is named after the Titans, or the mascot of the law school Kevin will be attending in the fall. The drink is pink, sweet, and very light. Really, it is perfect chilled over ice and served with pretty glass. Summer is ending fast, so try it while you can.   It would be a great addition to a bridal shower, bachelorette party, or even a signature cocktail at your wedding!

1 Minute Made Lite Lemonade (59 oz bottle)
1 Simply Lemonade with Strawberry (59 oz bottle)
1 Fifth of Smirnoff Strawberry Vodka
2 lemons, sliced

Stir all the ingredients together and pour into a pretty glass dispenser
Serve with mint or basil leaves and a pretty straw

This isn't the first pink drink I have shared.  I also love Pink Champagne and Skinny Black Raspberry Cocktails.

Back to School Barbeque

I have a major life changing announcement to make...my sweet husband Kevin is ditching his corporate job and is going back to school.  Yes - I will be the wife of a full-time law student.  To celebrate this major change in his life, we threw a backyard bash for all his friends over the weekend.  We enjoyed traditional barbecue food and great weather despite the cold front we have been plagued with for the past few weeks.  The school colors inspired the decor, but I avoided tacky school themed decorations.  The red accents came from roses in glass jars filled with fresh basil and parsley from my garden.  I tied in blue by using blue tea lights in glass votives.

If you are going to throw a party soon, I have one piece of advice: Prep a few days before by laying out all the pretty platters and decor.  It is a total time saver and helps things run smoothly the day of the party.
I tried to keep everything rustic and simple.  For our s'more station at the fire pit, I used jumbo marshmallows with wooden skewers.  Be sure to soak them the morning of your party to avoid catching fire.  For an unexpected twist, try these peanut butter cut s'mores.

Traverse City, Michigan Engagement Photo Session

Two months from today, this adorable couple will be walking down the aisle and saying I Do.  You could not meet a happier, more in love duo than Gabe and Michelle.  We are the bestest of friends with this gorgeous bride-to-be and are honored to be apart of her wedding day.  Honestly, we couldn't think of a better person to kick off our real weddings series.  Now, go grab a blanket because the love story of how Gabe and Michelle met is totally going to give you the chills.
